Tip

When editing text in QuarkXPress 7 or 8, sometimes the paragraph-formatting ruler annoyingly displays at the top of the text box. This happens when the Paragraph or Tabs tab is active in the Measurements palette.

To keep the ruler from appearing, just click on any tab in the Measurements palette OTHER than the Paragraph or Tabs tab.
