The Pasteboard in QuarkXPress 8 is lighter around the active spread than it is around the other spreads.
You can change the color of the Pasteboard around the active spread to any color you like under Preferences> Application> Display.
While you’re there, feel free to change width of the Pasteboard and the color of the Pasteboard around the other spreads!
