Hardware

ColorMunkiPantone’s ColorMunki ($499) is a breakthrough device. It can measure and calibrate colors on your display and printer, and also measure colors on any other surface. Its software can verify spot colors to make sure they can be reproduced in CMYK, and can build a color palette based on the colors in an image.

Once you’ve created a color palette, it can automatically add it directly into QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator.

There’s never been anything quite like ColorMunki — it falls somewhere between Pantone’s $99 Huey display calibrator and their professional $1,000+ colorimeters.
